GIS crew exhibits work at AppliedVis Conference 2006
The three members of the Geographic Information Systems work crew -- Rebecca DaVanon, Julia Kernitz and Kris Kershner -- created an exhibit for the Applied Vis 2006 conference at the Enka campus of AB Tech on Friday, November 10. The crew put together a comprehensive slideshow of crew mapping projects, talked about GIS @ WWC to conference attendees, and ate a fabulous chicken salad lunch. The conference focused on the announcement of a new "engagement site" for applied visualization research that is being funded by the Renaissance Computing Institute. We hope to collaborate further with UNCA, NEMAC and others involved in this effort.
The Asheville Citizen-Times wrote another article about the conference that mentions Warren Wilson -- you can read it here.
Way to go GIS crew!
