Pastor Steve Runholt

Rev. Steve Runholt, Pastor

A native of western South Dakota, Steve grew up in a land where the deer and the antelope play, and the buffalo still roam.  He graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1984 with a degree in psychology, and then attended Oxford University on a Rhodes Scholarship.    Following Oxford, Steve served as a Hunger Corp volunteer in Kenya for two years.  He graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2000 from Princeton Theological Seminary, where he won the Presbyterian Leadership Award and the Mary Long Grier-Hugh Davies Prize for Preaching.   Steve is married to Robyn Castellani, and they serve as staff to Annie, an exuberant standard poodle.  Apart from his family and his ministry at Warren Wilson, Steve’s passions include whitewater kayaking and riding his road and mountain bikes.  He has served as the pastor of the Warren Wilson Church since July 2005, and previously served as the Associate Pastor of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Asheville and as a Lilly Resident in Parish Ministry at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Steve also serves as chaplain for Warren Wilson College.

Donna's photoDonnaEagle-Joslin, Church Administrator

Born in the Midwest, Donna came to North Carolina in the mid 70’s to attend Warren Wilson College. After graduating, she worked in the field of the Arts, doing Graphic work and Art Direction for various companies both here and in Raleigh NC. She returned to the Mountains in 1989 to manage Seven Sisters Gallery in Black Mountain, and continued there until ’96 when she started her own landscape design business. Her business “Eldergardens” was geared to help aging gardeners continue their quest to keep their properties beautiful and fresh with new life. In 2002 she was approached by Warren Wilson to help startup, and run, a unique store in downtown Asheville representing the many talented Alumni, Faculty, Staff and friends of the college. She was honored to represent the college in this way until 2006 when the store closed its doors. Two months later, she came to the Chapel, and continues working as the Church Office Administrator and Facilities Manager.
