Partnership with Urban Dharma

Our partnership with this Asheville-based Buddhist community enables us to offer a variety of activities and programs. Urban Dharma is on Facebook.  You can also visit, email, call 828-225-6422, or drop by 29 Page Ave.

Several members of the UD community are alumni or friends of WWC or have other ties with the college.  Dr. Hun Lye, a former professor of Religious Studies at Warren Wilson who founded -be-, is founder and president of Urban Dharma.

Urban Dharma operates on the longstanding Buddhist tradition of generosity and mutual support. We thus rely on the great kindness of our teachers and the immense generosity of donors and volunteers. As we adhere to the principle that “the Dharma is ownerless and priceless,” all general spiritual programs offered at UD are free and open to all, but without financial support and volunteers, none of this would be possible.

WWC students have volunteered at UD, and UD has offered programs at WWC.
