The Berry Site
Day 3, 5/30/01

Today was a learning day as crew members continued digging plowzone in the first excavation units. Some began to cut unit profiles with trowels as they reached the bottom of the plowzone. This site was plowed very deeply in the last two years, resulting in a plowzone 50 centimeters deep.

Chris Rodning talking with Aaron Brummitt and Emily Dale. You can see the dark brown plowscars at the base of the subsoil. Emily and Aaron will remove the plowscars by trowel before they begin cutting profiles on their square.
